As cyber threats became more complex and frequent, Pádraigh Griffin, chief commercial officer of Evad Technology Group, says the team knew they had to develop a service that offered its clients more robust protection.

“Over the past few years, we have observed a significant increase in sophisticated attacks, including ransomware and advanced persistent threats (APTs), which traditional security measures struggle to mitigate completely. Ransomware is a major issue, encrypting data and holding it hostage, disrupting operations and costing businesses significantly. Phishing and social engineering attacks have become craftier, tricking people into revealing sensitive information.

“Our clients needed a more robust, proactive approach to cyber security that adapted to the evolving threat landscape. And so we developed our zero trust solution. And by ‘zero trust’, we really mean zero. With our zero trust solution our goal is to remove the risk.”

Zero trust is based on the idea that trust should never be granted implicitly, whether the entity requesting access is inside or outside the network, explains Griffin.

“Traditional security models often rely on perimeter defences, assuming anything inside the network can be trusted. This approach, however, is increasingly ineffective against modern threats. Zero Trust shifts the focus to strict identity verification, ensuring that every request for access is authenticated and authorised based on predefined policies,” Griffin says.

Evad has partnered with IT management and security tech providers Kaseya to build a state-of-the-art managed zero trust service, which includes next-generation antivirus protection, ransomware protection, and endpoint detection & response (EDR).

Kaseya provides a complete IT and security management platform aimed at IT professionals, managed service providers, and small enterprises. Their IT Complete Platform includes modules for endpoint management, cyber security, backup solutions, compliance, and business services. Kaseya aims to reduce costs by automating IT operations, leveraging resources, and providing extensive integration capabilities. Today, over 500,000 IT professionals use the platform to manage more than 300 million devices worldwide, delivering capabilities to improve productivity and security.

“We are delighted to partner with Evad Technology Group to deliver a state-of-the-art zero trust managed service,” says Mike Karr, VP account management, Kaseya. “By integrating our IT Complete platform with Evad’s robust zero trust solution, we are empowering businesses to navigate the increasingly complex security landscape with confidence. This partnership ensures that clients receive unparalleled protection against sophisticated cyber threats while maintaining the flexibility and efficiency needed to focus on their core business activities. Together, we are committed to providing a proactive and comprehensive cyber security strategy that adapts to the evolving threat landscape, ensuring our clients’ operations are secure and resilient.”

“The service continuously monitors and assesses network traffic, user behaviour, and endpoint activities to detect and respond to threats in real time. We also commit to achieving and supporting a minimum Microsoft security score of 65 for each business,” says Griffin.

Microsoft’s Mission 65 is a framework and a roadmap developed for its partners to help them assess their clients’ security posture, identify gaps and risks, and implement solutions that address their needs.
And because Evad’s zero trust solution is delivered as a fully managed service its clients benefit from round-the-clock support and proactive management. “This allows them to focus on their core business activities while we handle their ICT and security needs,” says Griffin.

The complex security landscape we see today is poised to become ever more sophisticated, presenting businesses with new and advanced security challenges.

“As artificial intelligence and machine learning become more widespread, attackers will leverage these technologies to create more sophisticated and adaptive attack methods,” Griffin says. “Compliance with evolving data privacy regulations will also be an ongoing challenge, creating the need for continuous adaptation of security practices. Finally, the rise of deepfake technology could lead to more convincing phishing attacks and social engineering schemes, adding another layer of complexity to the cybersecurity landscape.”

Within this environment, zero trust managed services solutions offer a powerful protection, allowing businesses to continue to innovate, while their core business is safeguarded.
